What is Waminda ?
Waminda, meaning « peace and tranquility » in Aboriginal language, is an 11 acres farm that welcomes injured animals and gives them shelter, food and love.
If you find some abandonned animals or cannot take care of yours anymore just contact Ian and arrange a meeting and we can take care of them for you.
Where is Waminda ?
Waminda is located on the coast only 10 minutes away from Geraldton on the West Coast of Australia, 5 hours North of Perth. If you are travelling the West Coast, Waminda is the perfect place to stop and relax for a few days.
What animals can you find in Waminda ?
Dingoes, kangaroos, emus, parrots, ducks, geese, chicken, peacock, horse, snake, dog, fish, frogs… You can help to feed the animals and get to know them better. Have you ever wanted to have a parrot on your shoulder, birds eating out of your hand, be in a cage full of dingoes or pet a baby kangaroo? It's possible here in Waminda!

What else can you see?
Many species of native flowers and plants grow here, some rare, some endangered. Waminda is also self-sufficient with solar panels, windmills, a kitchen garden... We furnish our own electricity, water, vegetables and herbs.
Making our own resources is a way of life here!
Who lives in Waminda ?
Ian and his wife Chaliaw own this property and have been welcoming people from all other the country and the world for nearly 20 years. You might find a couple of wwoofers too who are helping out keeping Waminda at its best.
What activities are there around Waminda ?
Situated just outside Geraldton and 5 minutes from the sea, you can do many activities such as fishing, scuba diving or snorkeling, surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, golfing, swimming, and many more.
